Our ‘Jazz Through the Ages’ exhibition will be displayed Saturday the 31st August and Sunday 1st September at the Melville Centre

Singer songwriter Sarah Gillespie has worked with some of the hottest jazz musicians on the UK scene.

Known for mixing blues, folk & jazz with her streetwise poetic lyrics – her new album ‘Wishbones’ was launched at the Southbank’s Purcell Room followed by a sell out show the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho.

‘Wishbones’ has received some outstanding accolades from the UK press including:

‘Alive with her characteristic wit, savvy and sensitivity. Album of the year.’ – The Arts Desk

‘Witty, free-flowing originals on Wishbones have a beat poet’s eye for observation’ – Jazzwise

‘Superior lyrics & compositional acumen flourish in the hands of a truly powerful band.’ – R&R Magazine

‘An incandescent presence with superior lyrics’ – TheGuardian

This performance marks the ‘launch in Wales of Wishbones’ and features:

  • Sarah Gillespie – guitar and vocals
  • Tom Cawley – piano
  • TBA – trumpet
  • Chris Montague – guitar
  • James Maddren – drums
  • Ruth Gollar – bass

This event has support of the Arts Council of Wales ‘Night Out’ scheme, for which we are very grateful.
