The wall2wall Jazz programme includes its traditional and very popular Festival Dinner – again at Abergavenny’s splendid Angel Hotel.
Those purchasing tickets will receive details of the menu by email and choices (plus any dietary requirements) can be sent to us for passing on to the Angel Hotel.
Our entertainment this year will be provided by the widely acclaimed Ian Shaw, who was named Best Jazz Vocalist in the BBC Jazz Awards of 2004 and 2007 and last year in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards.
Ian was also nominated in the Jazz FM Awards of 2013 and 2019, and the Downbeat Awards of 2017. His latest album, Shine Sister Shine, is his 15th and was described by Jazzwise magazine as ‘Shaw at his absolute best’.
Ian began his career as a cabaret artist alongside performers such as Julian Clary, Rory Bremner and Jo Brand. Spotted by City Limits magazine’s jazz critic, he honed his singer-pianist skills and was soon fronting his own band.
Ian has appeared at all the leading UK jazz venues and at the Lincoln Center in New York. At the Edinburgh Festival he was nominated for a Perrier award.
With the BBC Big Band and singer Claire Martin, he has toured the world and also guested on Claire’s 2002 album Too Darn Hot!
The Festival Dinner sold out both last year and in 2017, which has meant disappointing some – early booking of tickets is recommended.
