Originally from South West Wales, Claire studied music at Oxford University supported by a Choral Scholarship. She went on to complete an MMus in Violin Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, where she maintained an active interest in contemporary music.
Now freelancing in the richly-cultured hub of Manchester, Claire has worked on a host of arts collaborations as well as performing as a violinist and singer.
This session in our Jazz Lounge at the Kings Head brings the wall2wall Jazz Festival to a close for another year. Enjoy a relaxed close to a busy week of great music with Claire and Alex Hill, who play a mix of old country blues songs and well-known jazz jazz standards.
Look forward to sultry vocals mixed with fiery fiddling and the piano prowess that has made Alex one of the most prominent players in Manchester’s jazz scene. Their duo is influenced by the likes of Maria Muldaur, Bessie Smith and Nina Simone.
