Versatile singer and jazz violinist, Azhaar made her reputation fronting and co-writing for the popular Brazilian jazz group Sirius B. Their album on Freestyle Records was voted no 1 of that year on Jazz FM and in the Japanese Brazilian charts
She has performed international festival s such as Montreux , Mai Jazz, Brecon and Glastonbury.
After her absence travelling and touring South America, she returns with her new project Global Wave, described as new world jazz. Based on her original compositions, inspired by her travels, the music follows on from Sirius B and embraces Latin, Brazilian , African, Arabic and Funk.
The programme also includes the Debs Hancock duo, with an advance performance of her forthcoming Ella at 100 gig.
A Short Celebration of Ella Fitzgerald
Regular vocalist at BMJ Debs Hancock provides a short set that includes some of the highlights of her touring show that celebrates Ella’s 100th birthday.
